Forty
years ago our family moved to the “Grande Lande”, a region in
the South West of France that was originally considered the French desert.
At the time of Napoleon III numerous pines trees were planted, constituting
the largest forest in Europe.
Using the techniques of modern agriculture, we have helped to make this
region a Garden of Eden where all types of cultivation are possible. Corn
and other major food crops have been our major source of production until
the introduction of the CAP which has reduced their profitability. So we
decided to innovate by seeking other niches of production.
This is how we started: During the last fifteen years, we have cultivated
two medicinal plants native to America:
Passion Flower and Witch-hazel which were remarkably well-adapted to our
soil and our climate.
We then found another challenge: Converting more than half of our production
to organic farming.
Our mission has been foremost, through the cultivation of our plants, to
feed people and treat them.
What's more beautiful than the gift of the earth?
